Posted in on 9/29/2008 11:59:00 AM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby Jacelyn
WoW! It's real... I really do have a baby inside me! This morning Pat and I had a chance to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was right on track about 160 beats per minute. We got a little nervous because it took a while to find the heartbeat but finally she found it. I heard that the slower the heartbeat, the more likely that it's a boy but my midwife said that was not true just one of those wives tales. Well if it is true, we would be having a boy because the heartbeat ranges from 150-180. As the baby grows the heart will grow stronger and the heartbeat will slow down. Other than that, she gave me some advice on managing my constipation and the regular pap. I officially gained 3 pounds and I am at week 12.
All in all a pretty good day. We go back in 4 weeks just for a check up and then in two weeks for the UltraSound! That will be fun because we will find out the sex and if it is just one!
Singles or Doubles
Posted in on 9/28/2008 06:11:00 PM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby Jacelyn
So which one sounds better... Singles or Doubles? Every TV show I turn on, a couple of dreams I have had and my grandmother...Auh could it be more than one? That sounds really scary to me. So my grandmother Pageau has been hounding me with the fact that she has several sets of twins in her family. Five to be exact! Today she said, "Make sure you're feeding those little oneS!!! My cousins are identical twins and no drugs were used. Pat's grandmother said she has twins in her family too. Hopefully tomorrow we have an answer as to how many there are. One heartbeat would be preferred by both Pat and I. Pat said last night if there are two heartbeats that he will be at the bar if anyone needs to find him.
Well tomorrow is the exciting day! I will be sure to post how the appointment goes. Hopefully everything will be A OKAY! Check back tomorrow! Love all of ya and thanks for checking in!
A Meaty House Spider Encounter!
Posted in on 9/24/2008 06:27:00 PM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby Jacelyn
Just picture this... Tarsha's peacefully laying in bed watching Dancing With the Stars and across her chest struts a meaty black spider.

Auuuhhhhh!!!! I don't usually care much about spiders but I have decided that I hate them in my bed. I yelled to Pat to get the spider and guess what he does? No he doesn't kill it like I hoped, he "flicked the snot out of it" as he called it. I have no idea where that stupid thing went and I immediately had a "melt down". Pat expected me to just go to sleep after I had a spider crawling across me while I was in bed. Ya right. I took all of the blankets off the bed and shook them. I took my mini flashlight and searched high and low. No spider! I was sure it was still in the bed. Well to make this story even better... I decided to cry the whole entire time! I have no idea why I thought crying would help the situation! I put long sleeve pants and a shirt on in hopes that when I woke up in the am, I wouldn't have flesh missing from that creepy house spider.
Okay, I never would have ever reacted like this! What is this baby doing to me?
Urgh!

Okay, I know worse things could happen but going 4 days without pooping sucks. Just imagine how much food that actually is. Last night I had a bad headache and I told Pat that all of the poop inside of me was putting pressure on my brain. That is what it felt like. Today my pants were tight not because of the baby but because of the poop. Being constipated is totally uncomfortable. You know me, I have never been one to have a hard time pooping either. Usually it is the opposite.
Okay I'm done complaining!
Baby Information
Posted in on 9/21/2008 07:53:00 PM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby JacelynSo here is the scoop:
* I am 11 weeks pregnant.
* Pat and I have gained 3 pounds.
* The baby is due on Easter, April 12, 2009.
* My next Dr. Appt. is on Monday, September 29th. At this appointment Pat and I get to hear the heartbeat and hopefully confirm that there is only ONE!
* I am feeling good. Thankfully I am not as tired anymore although my appetite stinks. I never really feel like much of anything to eat. Yes, I still do eat plenty.
* I took this picture today! (Riley, this is as good as we're going to get for a little while!)
Okay, I think that is about it. If I missed something let me know! Love all of you!
The Baby's Room
Posted in on 9/21/2008 07:45:00 PM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby JacelynYou know me, I love to rearrange and decorate especially for something as fun as a baby. So thanks to Sarah and Brody, Baby Doyle (I think it is a Miss.) now has a crib. The coolest thing is it matches all of the furniture in the bedroom. I put a quilt that my gram made for me in the crib for a little decoration. I have also started a collection of toys in the crib for the baby too. I know... I have a long time to wait.
The BIG News!
Posted in on 9/21/2008 06:26:00 PM by Pat, Tarsha and Baby JacelynIt was early August when I was patiently waiting for my period. Part of me was hoping for it to come but the other part of me was going to be super disappointed if I did get my period. Well it wasn't coming, so I stopped at Rite Aid (not in town) to get THE TEST. It was so uncomfortable since this was the first time ever purchasing a pregnancy test. Later that night I brought the idea up to Pat and he encouraged me to give it a try. I went pee and RAN!!!!! I couldn't look.
Pat went into the bathroom to pee right after me.
Hummm, he was rather curious I guess. That is how we got to the picture I posted. Yup the test said, "PREGNANT".
After a couple of minutes the news sunk in and then Pat and I were smiling and excited. The only problem that we faced was the fact that we had a huge secret to keep for a little while.
