I never thought a little yellow tennis ball could cause so many problems! Well I found out....it can!

Yesterday Trey got some new yellow tennis balls to play with around the house. He loves tennis balls! I was getting my arts and crafts cleaned up before dinner last night and I was carrying my craft(s) through the living room when all of a sudden I stepped on one of Trey's tennis balls and tumbled over backwards. It felt like it all happened in slow motion. I had enough time to think about what I was going to do with "my glass bowl craft" and my belly. In the process of falling, I gently set down my craft and landed flat on my butt. And under my right butt cheek was Trey's stupid ball. OUCH! I couldn't see under me because my craft was blocking my view. Pat was in the kitchen when he heard all of the ruckus. (He called it the earthquake.) He came into the dining room when I said, "Ow!" I was laughing so hard I couldn't even tell him what had just happened. I told him I was okay and continued laughing which hurt my belly the most. He tried helping me up but I was not ready because I was laughing so hard I was concerned about peeing my pants. I was holding my crotch to prevent the pee from coming. Once I was all set, I carried on with my day. My butt was a little sore but nothing else had changed. There was no bleeding, spotting, cramps and Jacey was still moving quite a bit.
On my way to school this morning I was telling Nicole my story. She agreed that everything sounded fine and there was no need to call my doctor. Well that changed when I had gotten to school. A couple of people suggested that I call the doctor just to let them know what had happened since I am 8 months pregnant. So I called the office at 10:15 and they gave me a half hour to get to the Birth Center at the hospital. I was shocked!
I told my work and off I went to the hospital. I checked in at 11:00 and the nurse put me on a monitor for what she told me was going to be 4 hours. I totally didn't expect to be in the hospital all day long. I made myself at home! I had lunch, watched a lot of TV and took a small nap.
At 3:00 I was expecting to leave but the nurse seemed a little concerned that I was having some small contractions so before she would let me leave she had to page my midwife and have her look at my monitor which she was able to do at her own office. Finally at 4:15, just after Pat arrived, I was discharged. I was so afraid they were going to put me on some kind of bed rest but I am good to go back to my daily routines. Thank goodness! I am so NOT ready to have her yet! So now I am home and relaxing. No worries, we are all great!
